IMD Weather LIVE Updates: As the monsoon season ushers in notable weather changes throughout the country, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds in the upcoming days. According to their detailed predictions, light showers are expected to persist across most regions of northeast India over the next week, with isolated heavy rainfall anticipated today, June 5, 2025.
Furthermore, the IMD has issued warnings for intense rainfall in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim over the next week. Residents and travelers are advised to plan their journeys carefully, as waterlogging may occur in several areas. Other regions likely to be affected include Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh from June 5 to 8; Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, and Jharkhand on June 5; and Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, and Interior Karnataka from June 5 to 8.
Regarding the Southwest Monsoon, the IMD stated, “The Northern Limit of Monsoon continues to pass through 17.0°N/55°E, 17.5°N/60°E, 18°N/65°E, 18.5°N/70°E, Mumbai, Ahilyanagar, Adilabad, Bhawanipatna, Puri, Sandhead Island, 23.5°N/89.5°E, Balurghat, 30°N/85°E.” Additionally, West Rajasthan is expected to experience dust-raising winds from June 7 to 9. Meanwhile, hot and humid conditions are likely to persist in Odisha on June 5 and 6, and in West Rajasthan from June 7 to 9.
